ACACIA

  • Industrial Agreement negotiations are close to conclusion.
  • The outstanding issue in relation to Personal Leave hours has been resolved.
  • Serco have offered 2 months back-pay.

ACADEMY

  • Nothing to report.

ALBANY

  • No delegate present.

BANDYUP

  • Resignation of one of the delegates has created a vacancy.
  • Issue have arisen in relation to recent drug find within the prison.
  • Standing Order E6 continues to be a source of issues.

BORONIA

  • Dispute regarding Annual Leave Swaps being escalated.
  • Standing Order E6 appears to be working.
  • Concerns raised about change in local process for Purchased Leave.

BROOME

  • Members concerned that a recent prisoner escort to Perth was conducted by two Public Servants.
  • Disputes lodged regarding Long Service Leave at half pay.
  • Recent escape has highlighted some security concerns.
  • The issue around orientation for new staff has been resolved.

BUNBURY

  • Dispute regarding Standing Order E6.
  • Reintroduction of OT caps noted.
  • HOSS increase welcomed by impacted officers.
  • Several vacancies are now being filled.

CASUARINA

  • Staffing Level Agreement still not finalised.
  • Four disputes recently lodged.
  • Reintroduction of OT caps noted.

DDU       

  • Nothing to report.

EASTERN GOLDFIELDS

  • Meeting with the DC led to no new information regarding the attraction and retention of Officers.
  • Unit 3 remains closed with Department having no plan to lead to it reopening.

GREENOUGH

  • Post-riot infrastructure works continue.
  • Unit 2 is still empty.
  • Surveying works commencing in Unit 4.
  • Several vacant roster lines a concern.
  • Negotiations on revised Standing Order E6 coming to an end.
  • Dispute regarding cashing out of annual leave.

HAKEA

  • New Superintendent has led to a different relationship with the local branch.
  • Branch Meeting held regarding new roster has highlighted the need for further work to be done prior to approval.
  • Overtime caps are likely to lead to concerns about actual and potential instances of prisoner unrest and potential major incidents.
  • Recent staffing shortfalls on nightshift an issue.

KARNET

  • Nothing to report.

MRRF 

  • No delegate present.

PARDELUP

  • Staffing Level Agreement negotiations will commence shortly.
  • Vacant SO Reception position will soon be filled.
  • Issue with VSO Kitchen position.
  • Recent Commissioner’s Broadcast regarding absenteeism was not well received by the branch.
  • OT caps have been reintroduced.

ROEBOURNE

  • Staff shortages are an issue (10-13 per day) when the upcoming OT cap is likely to be 4.
  • Recent staff locker search has raised some issues.
  • Issue regarding prison meals.

SOG

  • No delegate present.

WANDOO

  • No delegate present.

WKRP

  • Orientation issue appears to be resolved.
  • Member numbers are around 100, triggering potential for second delegate position.
  • Issues with Standing Order E6 during dayshift.
  • Deputy Commissioner recently met with delegates onsite.
  • GROH Housing allocation still inconsistent.

WOOROLOO

  • OT caps not well received.
  • Potential dispute regarding hospital sits rate of OT.
