WAPOU Training and Engagement Manager Bodie Green, Secretary Andy Smith, President Ken Brown and Hakea Delegate Ben Taulanga were invited by Queensland Corrective Services to implement Stand T.A.L.R (Talk, Ask, Listen, Refer) state wide.

The team delivered 12 sessions to over 470 QCS staff in Townsville, Wolston and Woodford prisons.  Bodie trained 12 Queensland prison staff to deliver Stand T.A.L.R enabling continued local delivery of the program over the coming 12 months.

Queensland Minister for Corrective Services Mark Ryan praised the success of the program in Western Australia and highlighted the need for peer support in the field of corrections.

Queensland’s first Stand T.A.L.R programs were rolled out in January in collaboration with Together Union.
