Threat of COVID-19 to prisons still persists

The outbreak of COVID-19 in Victoria has made its way into the state’s justice system and this should serve as a timely reminder not to become complacent about the threat posed by this virus.
A prison officer in Victoria returned a positive test and if we get community transmission in Western Australia then the same could happen here.
The union encourages all members to continue to wash hands frequently, maintain physical distancing, remain home if feeling unwell and wear personal protective equipment as required.
